Bridlington & Hornsea
Stroll Bridlington’s award winning promenade or quaint old town, perhaps explorethe pre-Roman harbour, hop on the land train that runs up and down the seafront or step aboard a pleasure cruiser for a sail around the harbour. Later we continue to the quintessential seaside resort of Hornsea with its peaceful beach, towering Victorian folly, huge freshwater lake and variety of seabirds. Perhaps visit Hornsea Folk Museum which houses the world’s largest collection of Hornsea Pottery.
A free day to explore Hull. Perhaps visit the William Wilberforce House Museum. This striking mansion is a former merchant’s house and birthplace of the famous campaigner against the slave trade. The museum tells the story of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and its abolition. Galleries give an insight into West African culture and displays show items that belonged to Wilberforce such as journals and original costumes. Afterwards, maybe call at the nearby Streetlife Museum.
