Our outstanding base is Racket Hall Country House, an elegant hotel, tucked away beneath the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the heritage town of Roscrea. It boasts countryside views, open fireplaces, a wood panelled bar, fine cuisine and spacious, well-appointed bedrooms. Look forward to great entertainment on two nights of your stay. Sensational sightseeing takes in a day in the walled city of Limerick, where the main attraction is King John’s Castle, which is perched on an island in the heart of the metropolis. Next day we’re off to medieval Kilkenny, also home to an imposing castle as well as a 16th century merchant’s townhouse. Our final outing takes us to the Rock of Cashel, an intriguing huddle of ancient buildings including a round tower and cathedral. From here, we move on to quaint Cahir.
